On June 28, the delegation of the Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery returned from Atyrau. Within the framework of the two-day visit, doctors from Astrakhan visited a number of clinics in the region. The objectives of the working visit included the exchange of experience, the expansion of cross-border network and the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between regions.
Right now Atyrau region is making plans to actively develop children heart surgery. The training of Atyrau experts was discussed at a briefing in the Regional Children's hospital, where specialists from Astrakhan arrived. The Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery was represented by the head of the Children's Heart Surgery unit, a cardiovascular surgeon, Mikhail Plotnikov, a cardiovascular surgeon Sergei Makeev, a cardiologist Elena Damrina and, the head of marketing, Natalia Goncharova. As part of the business trip, Astrakhan specialists visited the cardiology department of the regional hospital, the regional cardiological and perinatal centers in Atyrau, where they conducted master classes.
As a result of the event, a decision was made to train Atyrau doctors on the base of the clinic in Astrakhan, and it is scheduled to start in September. As the head of one of the Center's units, Mikhail Plotnikov, correctly noted: "Our task is to help people get qualified help with the heart disease regardless of borders."
